Lower Slaughter, The Cotswolds

Lower Slaughter is a quaint and very typical Cotswold village located in Gloucestershire. The village sits on both sides of the River Eye, with a couple of footbridges to connect them. One of its main attractions is the Old Mill and its restored 19th century water wheel.

Copsehill Road in Lower Slaughter was once named ‘Most Romantic Street in Britain’ and the village has also been voted as one of the most beautiful villages in England; it’s no wonder Lower Slaughter is an incredibly sought after area. It’s definitely one you don’t want to miss during a visit to the Cotswolds.

Other locations to visit in the Cotswolds include: Stow-on-the-Wold and Bourton-on-the-Water.

Parking

Parking is fairly limited in Lower Slaughter, however, the parking that is available is free. You can park for free on Copsehill Road, alongside the River Eye. The postcode is GL54 2HP.
 
If you do fancy a little walk, then you could park in Bourton-on-the-Water (another must-see) and have a casual stroll over to Lower Slaughter; this would be just under a 2-mile walk. Free parking is available on the High Street and the postcode is GL54 2AP.
